Dear Children, I am here. Love, Jesus

I just finished my assignment for this past week in the Unglued Bible study. One of the questions was to read Matthew 14:22-32 and comment on it. I have read this story many times, it is about the storm and Peter walking on the water to Jesus but just like God's Word does many times it spoke to me in a different way. In verse 27 Jesus says, "Don't be afraid, take courage, I am here." Jesus doesn't want us to be afraid, He says "take courage, I am here." I think of our grandchildren and even our children now, although they are grown they are still my babies, when they are scared, I would say to them, "it's okay maw maw, (or mom if I was talking to my children) is here, don't be afraid." How I don't want them to be afraid and I think how much more Jesus doesn't want us to be afraid. He is with us always. Then in verse 31 Jesus says "you have so little faith, why do you doubt me?" I can just hear the love in His voice. I don't think He used an angry tone. I think He lovingly said, don't doubt, trust me, I AM RIGHT HERE. Jesus will never leave us or forsake us. I doubt so often so these words of Jesus in Matthew 14:22-32 are very comforting. Thank you, Jesus for never leaving, for always being here and loving me even when I doubt.
